The name — a Japanese word
In Japanese, 独歩 means to walk alone — to go one's own way. Not isolation. Self-reliance: moving forward under your own power, one deliberate step at a time.
The Japanese idiom 独立独歩 — dokuritsu doppo — means to stand on your own feet and walk your own path. That is who we build for.
The philosophy
A solo operator can't babysit unreliable tools or wire together a sprawl of them.
